The Government of Manipur commemorated the people who sacrificed their lives in the Anglo-Manipuri War as Khongjom Dayat the Khongjom War Memorial Complex which is a historical site that holds the tallest statute of Sword in the world constructed in remembrance of the people who fought in the war. Key Points: The Anglo-Manipur War in 1891 was between the british government and the kingdom of Manipur which lasted between 31st March and 27th April which ended with the British victory and crowned MeidingnguChaurachand on 22nd September 1891. The war was fought in the Kheba hills of Khongjom in Manipur in which the soldiers fought the three side attack of the british form Silchar, Kohima and Myanmar.

Assam Rifles (military unit) has constructed a war memorial “Veer Samriti”in Nagaland, Kohima for 357 Army & Assam Rifles, died while fighting against insurgency against north-eastern state. About “Veer Samriti” war memorial: The memorial has been built at Mokokchung, Nagaland (one of the cultural & intellectual center), which was planned & executed by Inspector General Assam Rifles (North), will be inaugurated soon. The names of the 357 martyrs have been carved on a single granite stone. The memorial is spread over 13,500 sq feet & was built by 44 Assam Rifles. India’s 1st War Memorial for Animals to be set up in Meerut, UP
The govt has announced to set up country’s 1stwar memorial for service animals such as dogs, horses, mules in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh (UP). This war memorial will come at army’s specialised breeding, rearing training centre for animals in the Remount and Veterinary Corps (RVC) Centre and College in Meerut. Key Points: Mansi, a labrador breed dog which was awarded the highest honour of animalswill top the list of animals to be remembered. The Indian currently has army has more than 100 dogs, 5000 mules and 1500 horses.
