Exclusive Village Project for Mahouts
▪ The Tamil Nadu government has established a village for mahouts with 47 staff quarters at the Kozhikamuthi camp located in the Anamalai Tiger Reserve.
▪ The village was inaugurated virtually by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin.
▪ This is India’s second exclusive village for mahouts.
▪ The first specialized elephant hospital in India opened in November 2018, in Churmura village, Mathura UTTAR PRATHESH.
▪ The project has been implemented through the Department of Welfare of the Differently Abled (People Welfare Department).
Zoological Park Development Project
▪ The Tamil Nadu government has approved a fund of ₹35 crore for the development of four zoological parks in the state.

Chief Minister’s Health Insurance Scheme
▪ This is a welfare scheme
▪ Chief Minister Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme launched on 23.07.2009 as kalaingar Kaappittu Thittam.
▪ After – The scheme was changed in 2012 by the Honorable former Chief Minister Selvi J. Jayalalithaa.
▪ Purpose: To provide high-quality medical services free of cost to economically disadvantaged
families.
▪ Under this scheme, treatment is provided free or at a subsidized cost in both government and private hospitals
▪ The scheme is implemented under the Health and Family Welfare Department.
