Rs.50 crore deposit fund for sanitation workers
- The Tamil Nadu government will allot Rs 50 crore for the welfare of sanitary workers under the Sanitary Workers Development Scheme.
About Sanitation Worker Development Programme
- Launch –December 9, 2022 in Madurai
- Objective – To provide various welfare schemes to sanitation workers and their families working in urban local bodies.
- All key sanitation workers will be registered with the Tamil Nadu Sanitation Workers Welfare Board.
Panel formed to ‘monitor and curb’ unauthorised construction

- The State government has constituted a high level committee to “curb and monitor” unauthorized construction in Chennai.
- The committee, headed by Greater Chennai Corporation Commissioner J. Radhakrishnan.
- It has been formed by the order of the Madras High Court.
- The other members of the committee are
- Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority (CMDA)
- Member Secretary Anshul Mishra, CMDA Enforcement Cell Chief Planner.
- Joint Director in the Directorate of Town and Country Planning (DTCP).
