“Vizhuthugal”
▪ Chief Minister Stalin inaugurated “Vizhuthugal” rehabilitation service vehicle and peer support center services for persons with psychosocial disabilities, under the Department of Differently Abled Welfare.
▪ Under the “Tamil Nadu Rights” scheme, integrated service centers will be established across the state to provide rehabilitation services to differently-abled persons. For differently-abled individuals who cannot reach these centers, the Chief Minister launched the first rehabilitation service vehicle called “Vizhuthugal” (meaning “roots” or “tendrils”).
▪ These vehicles will travel on predetermined routes and provide rehabilitation services such as physiotherapy, hearing therapy, speech therapy, and special education based on the needs of differently-abled persons in those areas
