Kaval Karangal Scheme
▪ Since its inception in 2021, the “Kaaval Karangal” unit has rescued 8,498 individuals.

▪ The aim of the Kaval Karangal Scheme is to enhance public safety by rescuing and providing necessary assistance to vulnerable groups, specifically elderly people, women, children, and mentally ill individuals who are found wandering on the streets.
▪ This scheme ensures that these individuals receive the care and support they need, preventing them from facing potential dangers or exploitation.
▪ “Kaaval Karangal” operates round the clock through its helpline (94447 17100) to rescue abandoned, homeless, and missing individuals, with the support of NGOs, shelter homes, and hospitals.
