CM’s Thayumanavar Scheme
▪ The pilot programme of the Chief Minister’s Thayumanavar Scheme was launched in Chennai and Nagapattinam.
▪ The scheme was initially announced in the Tamil Nadu State Budget for 2024-25.
Aim – To bring around five lakh of the poorest families out of poverty within two years.
Note
▪ Tamil Nadu has the fourth lowest poverty ratio among states with 4.89%.
▪ Poverty line in Tamil Nadu – 880 (Rural) and 937 (Urban).
