- The National Disaster Management Authority has sanctioned a grant of ₹150 crore towards urban flood mitigation projects proposed in
- The grant would be released as a first instalment to the State government under the National Disaster Mitigation
- The grant has been sanctioned for Five major projects which include
- To improve some of the surplus channels linked to small water bodies
- To construct new storm-water drains to bridge gaps in the existing network
- To create sponge parks
- To rejuvenate eight water bodies
- To install Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) for the automation of reservoirs’

Tamil Pudhalvan scheme
- Chief Minister K. Stalin announced that the Tamil Pudhalvan scheme will be launched in Coimbatore on August 9.
