Over 1,000 Years Old Temple Renovations
▪ Rs. 300 crore has been allocated over three fiscal years for renovations of temples that are more than a thousand years old.
▪ Through this, along with user funds and temple funds, a total of Rs. 430 crore is being spent on consecration ceremonies (Kumbabishekam) for 49 temples.
▪ Currently, 507 thousand-year-old temples have been documented.
▪ This year, UNESCO award has been given to the Apatsahayesvarar Temple in Thukkachi, Kumbakonam.
