69th All India Cooperative Week
- Minister of Slum Clearance Board of Tamil Nadu T. M. Anbarasan distributed the welfare assistance in 69th Cooperative Week Festival at an event in Kancheepuram.
Note
- The Cooperative Week is celebrated every year from 14th to 20th November, 2022.
- It is an occasion to highlight the achievements of the cooperative movement and chalk out future strategies.
- The theme for 2022 is “India@75” Growth of Cooperatives and Future Ahead”.
- The Cooperative Credit Societies Act of India was enacted in 1904
Constitutional Provisions
- The Constitution (97th Amendment) Act, 2011 added a new Part IXB regarding the Cooperative Societies.
- Article 43B was added in the Directive Principles of State Policy (Part IV) regarding the “promotion of cooperative societies”.
