- Five men, whose daring act saved a woman from being abducted in Tiruvalluvar district last December, were among those who were awarded the Anna Medal for Gallantry, 2020, on the occasion of Republic Day in Chennai.
- The award includes a cheque for `1 lakh, a medal worth `5,000 and a certificate.
