Pramod Mahajan Grameen Kaushalya Vikas Kendras in Maharashtra

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched 511 Pramod Mahajan Grameen Kaushalya Vikas Kendras in Maharashtra.
  • These Kendras will conduct skill development training programs across various sectors to provide employment opportunities to rural youth.
  • Each Kendra will train about 100 youngsters in at least two vocational courses.
  • The training will be provided by empanelled industry partners and agencies under the National Skill Development Council.

About National Skill Developmental Council

  • Launch – July 31, 2008
  • It is a not-for-profit public limited company constituted under section 25 of the Companies Act, 1956.
  • Objective – To promote skill development by catalyzing creation of large, quality and for-profit vocational institutions.

One Nation, One Student ID’ for school students

  • The Union Education Ministry recently notified the states to initiate the enrolment process for One Nation, One Student ID.
  • This new initiative is named as Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry (APAAR).
  • It will be a life-long ID that will track students’ achievements and academic journeys across the country.

About APAAR

    • It is an Education Ecosystem Registry or an ‘EduLocker’.
  • Introduced as part of the National Education Policy (NEP) of 2020.
  • Aim – To create unique ID numbers for school students across India.

9th G20 Parliamentary Speakers’ Summit (P20)

  • The 9th G20 Parliamentary Speakers’ Summit (P20) was held at Yashobhoomi at Dwarka, New Delhi.
  • The first P20 summit hosted by India in cooperation with the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) under the broader framework of India’s G20 Presidency.
