GIAN scheme

- The Education Ministry is planning to restart the Global Initiative of Academic Networks (GIAN) scheme by launching the fourth phase of the scheme.
- The scheme aims to rope in eminent scholars from across the world to teach at Indian universities.
- Since the beginning of the scheme in 2015-16, 1,612 foreign faculty members have visited
India to deliver courses from 59 countries.
Ilaya Chatbot launched
- Tamil Nadu launched an AI-powered chat bot named ‘Ilaya’ on the Naan Mudhalvan website.
- The chat bot aims to aid college students in their queries on skill development training and job opportunities.
