- The Indian South Central Railways (SCR) zone becomes India’s first to have 13 energy-neutral stations. The number is highest amongst all the zones across the Indian Railways network.
About energy-neutral railway stations:
- These are capable of meeting 100% energy requirements through solar photovoltaic panels which have been commissioned at the station buildings.
- The total capacity of all the solar panels installed at the 13 energy neutral stations is 99 kWpat a cost of Rs 50 lakh.
