The Indian South Central Railways (SCR) zone becomes India’s first to have 13 energy-neutral stations. The number is highest amongst all the zones across the Indian Railways network. About energy-neutral railway stations: These are capable of meeting 100% energy requirements through solar photovoltaic panels which have been commissioned at the station buildings. The total capacity of all the solar panels installed at the 13 energy neutral stations is 99 kWpat a cost of Rs 50 lakh.
