V.Sindhu was voted as the BBC Indian Sportswoman of the year. She gained more popular votes than boxer Mary Kom, para-shuttler Manasi Joshi, sprinter Dutee Chand and wrestles Vinesh Phogat. Legendary athlete P.T.Usha was bestowed the Lifetime Achievement Award.
