Council Meeting of NITI Aayog Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing the Eighth Governing Council meeting of NITI Aayog on May 27, 2023. Objective - “Viksit Bharat (Developed India)” in 2047. First Digital Census Home Minister Amit Shah, on May 22, 2023 inaugurated the new Janganana Bhavan (Census building) in New Delhi, and released a report, “The Treatise on Indian Censuses Since 1981”. The government announced the first digital Census giving citizens an opportunity to “self-enumerate”. About Census India has conducted the Census every 10 years since 1881, but in 2020, the decennial exercise for Census 2021 had to be postponed due to the pandemic.
