Modern Indian painting, Akbar Padamsee, passed away on Monday evening. Padamsee breathed his last at the Isha Yoga Center in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, the headquarters of Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev’s Isha Foundation. Akbar Padamsee was also a photographer, sculptor, filmmaker, engraver and lithographer, he was most recognized and decorated for his paintings which have found a place of prominence in eminent galleries in India and around the world. Padamsee was awarded Padma Bhushan in 2010.
