Defence, National Security and Terroris Mitra Shakti–2023 The 9th edition of the Mitra Shakti commenced at Pune in Maharashtra. Mitra Shakti–2023 is a joint military exercise between the armed forces of India and Sri Lanka. The exercise was started in 2012. Awards & Honours Lata Mangeshkar Award 2023 Veteran playback singer and Padma Shri awardee Suresh Ishwar Wadkar won the Lata Mangeshkar Award for the year 2023. The Lata Mangeshkar Award is an annual award given by the Maharashtra Government in memory of the legendary playback singer Lata Mangeshkar World Summits and Organisation WHO Launches Commission on Social Connection The World Health Organization (WHO) has announced a new Commission on Social Connection, to identify loneliness as a pressing health threat, promote social connection as a priority and accelerate the scaling up of solutions in countries of all incomes.
