App aims to academically empower visually impaired students

The Swalekhan(self-writing) app is a tech offering conceptualised by the city-based Niwant Andh Mukta Vikasalaya, an NGO that works for the betterment of the visually impaired individuals, and developed by Josh Software, a Pune-based IT services company specialising in providing global tech solutions, in conjunction with Tekvision, a leading accessibility service provider whose workforce comprises a significant number of visually impaired technocrats.

Bahadurpur and Kheri Viran to become India’s first model sports villages

Two villages namely Bahadurpurand Kheri Veran of Uttar Pradesh (UP) has set to become India’s first ‘Model Sports villages’ as part of the Institute of  Management Technology (IMT) Ghaziabad, UP under the ‘Adarsh Khel Gram’ program, IMT in association with NGO(Non Governmental Organization)‘ Sports: A Way of Life’. AIM:To evolve sports culture and increase sports literacy in the country. Key Points: Under this program all the verandahs, courtyards will be developed as primary sports ground management and IMT will provide Olympic related sports equipment. One hour everyday from 4-5:00 pm will be the designated time to play sports. The main objective is to teach the Olympic games in these villages and various Arjuna Awardees would meet these kids to motivate them to participate in the games.

Thaawarchand Gehlot, Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment launched the Braille Edition of the book “Exam Warriors” authored by Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi. The book was prepared by Braille Press of Rajasthan Netraheen Kalyan Sangh, Jaipur, India. Key Points All the pictures of the book have been well described for the benefit of blind readers. The Rajasthan Netraheen Kalyan Sanghis a Non-Governmental Organization(NGO) that has been empowering blind and visually challenged people for more than 44 years.
