Rs.50 crore deposit fund for sanitation workers The Tamil Nadu government will allot Rs 50 crore for the welfare of sanitary workers under the Sanitary Workers Development Scheme. About Sanitation Worker Development Programme Launch –December 9, 2022 in Madurai Objective – To provide various welfare schemes to sanitation workers and their families working in urban local bodies. All key sanitation workers will be registered with the Tamil Nadu Sanitation Workers Welfare Board. Panel formed to ‘monitor and curb’ unauthorised construction The State government has constituted a high level committee to “curb and monitor” unauthorized construction in Chennai. The committee, headed by Greater Chennai Corporation Commissioner J. Radhakrishnan. It has been formed by the order of the Madras High Court. The other members of the committee are Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority (CMDA) Member Secretary Anshul Mishra, CMDA Enforcement Cell Chief Planner. Joint Director in the Directorate of Town and Country Planning (DTCP).
