10,000 Jobs in BFSI sector The Tamil Nadu Apex Skill Development Centre for Banking Financial Services and Insurance (TNASDC BFSI) plans to create at least 10,000 jobs in the sector, a bulk of which will come through the 'Naan Mudhalvan' skilling initiative. Nirbhaya (which literally means fearless) was given as the victim's name to conceal the victim's identity. TANGEDCO to begin installation of smart meters The Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (TANGEDCO) will soon begin installing smart meters for domestic consumers across the State. The Central government funded scheme follows the successful implementation of the project at T.Nagar under the Smart Cities Mission's Area Based Development (ABD) through the Chennai Smart City Limited. A Total of 1.17 crore smart meters were approved for all categories of low tension consumers, except agriculture and hut services, under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme aimed at increasing the use of IT-enabled services to improve metering and billing.
