Appointments Shakeel Akhter to head Information Commission M. Shakeel Akhter, former Director-General of Police, has been appointed as the Chief Information Commissioner (CIC) of the Tamil Nadu Information Commission. Note: Appointed by – Governor on the recommendation of the committee consisting of the Chief Minister as Chairperson, the Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly and a state Cabinet Minister. Term of office – till the age of 65 or 3 years.
