Aim to provide thrust to space science across the country, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has announced a list of new projects including an incubation centre in Trichy, Tamil Nadu and a space research facility in Kanyakumari. It features sophisticated telescopes, from India's first launched satellite, to rocket to existing satellites. Currently, Kolkata has such a sophisticated facility. Steps have been taken to make this center of Kanyakumari an important regional center.
