Environment and Ecology Translocation of Tigers ▪ The Maharashtra forest department is planning to translocate tigers from Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve (TATR) in Chandrapur district to Sahyadri Tiger Reserve (STR). ▪ The move aims to revive the population of tigers in STR. Tiger Translocation in India ▪ Tiger translocation projects have been undertaken in India since 2008. ✓ Sariska Tiger Reserve – 2008 ✓ Panna Tiger Reserve – 2009 Tiger Reserves with zero tigers ✓ Sahyadri Tiger Reserve (STR) ✓ Kaval TR in Telangana ✓ Kamlang TR in Arunachal Pradesh ✓ Dampa TR in Mizoram ✓ Satkosia TR in Odisha.
