Govt – Welfare oriented Govt schemes, their utility Tele MANAS ▪ A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) and Ministry of Defence (MoD) to facilitate collaboration between them in operating a special cell of Tele MANAS. ▪ Tele MANAS stands for Tele Mental Health Assistance and Networking Across States. About Tele MANAS ✓ Launch – October 2022. ✓ Implemented by - Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) ✓ Objective – To provide free 24X7 tele-mental health services. ✓ Implemented under National Mental Health Programme (NMHP). ✓ Toll-free number – 14416. Tuberculosis (TB) elimination ▪ India’s goal to achieve the elimination of TB in the country by 2025 has slowed down. ▪ According to the Health Ministry, India has been engaged in TB control activities for more than 50 years, yet the disease continues to be the country’s severest health crisis. Note ▪ TB kills an estimated 4,80,000 Indians every year or over 1,400 patients every day. ▪ TB is bacterial disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. ▪ National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP) is guided by the National Strategic Plan 2017–25 to accelerate the TB elimination. General Awareness and Public Administration NOTA ▪ The Indore Lok Sabha constituency recorded more than 2 lakh votes polled for “None Of The Above” (NOTA). ▪ It is the highest number of votes that the “None Of The Above” (NOTA) option has ever received in any constituency till now. Note ▪ Launch - September 2013. ▪ The Supreme Court directed the Election Commission of India (ECI) to introduce NOTA. ▪ If the highest number of votes in a constituency is polled for NOTA, the second most successful candidate wins
