Welfare oriented government schemes MGNREGS wage rates revised by up to 10%for 2023-24 fiscal year. The government has notified an increase in wage rates under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme for the financial year 2023-24, with Haryana having the highest daily wage at ₹357 and Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh the lowest at ₹221. In Tamil Nadu, for the financial year 2022-23, a daily wage of Rs.281 is being paid under this scheme. For the financial year 2023-24, the salary has been increased to Rs.294. This is an increase of 4.63 percent.
