Important Days International Day for Biological Diversity ▪ International Day for Biological Diversity is observed on May 22 every year. ▪ The day commemorates the adoption of the Convention on Biological Diversity and the Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 1992. ▪ Theme 2024 : Be Part of the Plan World Summits and Organisations World Hydrogen Summit 2024 ▪ World Hydrogen Summit 2024 was recently held in Rotterdam, Netherlands. ▪ The summit was organised by Sustainable Energy Council in partnership with Netherlands government. ▪ India has set up its pavilion at the summit for the first time. ▪ The pavilion was set up by the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy. Note ▪ National Green Hydrogen Mission - January 2023. ▪ India aims to achieve a green hydrogen production capacity of 5 MMT (Million Metric Tonnes) by 2030. ▪ Guidelines for use of Green Hydrogen in steel, transport / mobility and shipping sectors. ▪ Hydrogen Valley Innovation Clusters to foster promote Green Hydrogen ecosystem.
