- The Tripura government has renamed Baramura Hills in Kokborok language on ‘Kokborok Day’, thereby fulfilling the long-standing demand of Kokborok speaking people that prominent places of the state be renamed in the local language.
- The state government, through an emergency cabinet decision, has renamed the Baramura Hills as “Hatai Kutul” to mark “Kokborok Day” held every year on January 19.
