National Tiger Census

  • Corbett Tiger Reserve is a major focus area.
  • Uttarakhand recorded 560 tigers in the last count.

Animal Exchange Programme

  • The Bannerghatta Biological Park, Karnataka has imported eight black-capped capuchin monkeys from South Africa.
  • Aim: To enhance genetic diversity and strengthen conservation-oriented zoological management.
  • Scientifically known as Sapajus paella.
  • Central Zoo Authority approval is mandatory for international animal transfer.
