Sangeetha Natak Academy Awards 2024-25
- Sangeetha Natak Akademi is a national academy for music, dance and drama.

- It is India’s highest national organization for the arts.
- It was established in 1953 and functions under the Ministry of Culture of the Central Government.
- Seven people have been shortlisted for the Akademi Ratna award, including Tamil Bharatanatyam artist Sudharni Raghupathi.

- Tamil Nadu’s N.Vijay Siva and A.S.Krishnan were selected for the 12 awards for music artists.
- The 12 awardees for dance include Tamils Roja Kannan for Bharatanatyam, K. Hariprasad of Kalashetra and Nagajyothi and Seetha Nagajyothi for Kuchupudi.
- Among the couple from Delhi is Nagajyothi, former vice-president of Delhi Tamil Sangam, Delhi Education Corporation.
- Tamil actor Vagai Chandrasekhar is among the 10 recipients of the award for theater actors.
- Puducherry’s K. Murugan is one of the 13 awardees for folk arts. Also, 5 artists have been shortlisted for the award in all categories. 40 people have been selected for the fellowships.
- They will be honored with a cash prize of Rs.3 lakh.

- 106 young artistes have been selected for Sangeet Natak Akademi Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar award.
- These awards are presented by the President.
