Sangeetha Natak Academy Awards 2024-25 Sangeetha Natak Akademi is a national academy for music, dance and drama. It is India's highest national organization for the arts. It was established in 1953 and functions under the Ministry of Culture of the Central Government. Seven people have been shortlisted for the Akademi Ratna award, including Tamil Bharatanatyam artist Sudharni Raghupathi. Tamil Nadu's N.Vijay Siva and A.S.Krishnan were selected for the 12 awards for music artists. The 12 awardees for dance include Tamils Roja Kannan for Bharatanatyam, K. Hariprasad of Kalashetra and Nagajyothi and Seetha Nagajyothi for Kuchupudi. Among the couple from Delhi is Nagajyothi, former vice-president of Delhi Tamil Sangam, Delhi Education Corporation. Tamil actor Vagai Chandrasekhar is among the 10 recipients of the award for theater actors. Puducherry's K. Murugan is one of the 13 awardees for folk arts. Also, 5 artists have been shortlisted for the award in all categories. 40 people have been selected for the fellowships. They will be honored with a cash prize of Rs.3 lakh. 106 young artistes have been selected for Sangeet Natak Akademi Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar award. These awards are presented by the President.
