Awards & Honours
Olivier Award:
- Chennai-born Singaporean actor Anjana Vasan has won the best supporting actress in a play at the 47th edition of Olivier Awards, for playing Stella Kowalski in the revival of American playwright Tennessee Williams ‘A Streetcar Named Desire’.
- The Oliviers are the Oscars of London theatre and the 36-year-old is the first Singaporean to win the prestigious award.
Ma.Aranganathan literary award:
- Writers K. Panchangam and SureshKumara Indrajith will be conferred with the Ma. Aranganathan Literary Award (2023) on behalf of ‘Munril’ literary organisation.
- The ‘Ma.Aranganathan Literary Award’ presented on behalf of the Literary Association in the memory of M. Aranganathan, one of the distinguished creators of Tamil cinema.
- The award carries a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh each.
