- Served as the President of the Tamil Nadu Agricultural Workers Union for about 25 years.
- Tamil Nadu State Secretary of the Communist Party of India for 13 years.
- Also served as a member of the party’s Central Committee and the President of the National Control Committee.
- Received the Ambedkar Award of the Government of Tamil Nadu in 2017.
- Received the “Thakaisal Tamilar” Award of the Government of Tamil Nadu in 2022.
