- World Smile Day is celebrated on the first Friday of October each year.This year, it falls on October 6, 2023. The idea behind this day is to promote acts of kindness and to encourage people to smile.
- World Smile Day Theme 2023: “Do an act of kindness – help one person smile”.

Awards & Honours
Nobel Prize for Literature 2023
- The Nobel Prize for Literature 2023 has been announced to Norway’s famous writer Jan Fosse (64).
- Contribution – He has been given the honor for bringing out hitherto unspoken ideas through his wide range of writings ranging from plays, novels, poetry and children’s books.
- Awarding Institution – Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences
- Cash Prize – The Nobel Prize for Literature carries a prize money of $1 million (roughly Rs. 8.32 crore) along with a gold medal and certificate.
- Presentation of Award – 10th December

The Nobel Prize has been awarded since 1901 in honor of Swedish inventor Alfred Nobel (creator of the prize).
