World Thrift Day
- Every year, October 30 is observed as World Thrift Day World Savings Day.
- In 1924, during the World Society of Savings Banks Conference held in Milan, Italy, October 31 was declared as World Thrift Day.
- In 1984, our country’s former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi was assassinated on October 31, so October 30 is celebrated as World Thrift Day in India.
- The main objective of this day is to educate people about savings and thrift.
