About e-Jagriti Platform
- e-Jagriti is a flagship initiative of the Department of Consumer Affairs under the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution.
- It was launched on 1 January 2025.
- The platform aims to make the consumer dispute redressal system faster, simpler, and more efficient across India.

- Context: The Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) and the Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry (APAAR) are building a trusted digital ecosystem for academic records, making education more flexible, transparent, and accessible for every learner.
About Academic Bank of Credit (ABC)
- Academic Bank of Credit (ABC) is a digital platform launched by the Ministry of Education, Government of India.
- It is regulated by the University Grants Commission (UGC).

- ABC allows students to store, manage, transfer, and redeem academic credits earned from recognised educational institutions through a digital system.
- Objective: To create a flexible and student-friendly education system where academic credits are recognised, safely stored, and can be used throughout a learner’s educational journey.
- It supports the goals of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the National Credit Framework (NCrF).
Key Features of Academic Bank of Credit
- Academic Mobility: Students can study in different Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and easily transfer their academic credits between courses and institutions.
- Easy Credit Verification: Provides a secure, consent-based digital system for sharing and verifying academic records, reducing paperwork and processing time.
- Multiple Entry and Exit (MEE): Supports the Multiple Entry and Exit system introduced under NEP 2020.
- SWAYAM Integration: Students can earn up to 40% of their academic credits through courses offered on the SWAYAM online learning platform.
- Aligned with NCrF: Follows the National Credit Framework (NCrF) by recognising academic, vocational, and experiential learning.
About APAAR ID
- APAAR stands for Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry.
- It is an initiative of the Ministry of Education, Government of India, under the “One Nation, One Student ID” programme, in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

- APAAR is a permanent digital academic identity for every student, from school education to higher education.
- It provides each student with a unique 12-digit ID.
- The ID stores a student’s academic records, including degrees, scholarships, awards, certificates, and academic credits.
- Students can use the APAAR ID to access their academic records online anytime.
- The same APAAR ID remains with a student throughout their educational journey.
- It is linked with Aadhaar and securely stored in DigiLocker for easy access.
- APAAR acts as a lifelong academic passport, keeping all educational achievements in one digital record.
- With a single digital ID, students can easily change schools or colleges, apply for admissions or jobs, submit academic documents, and track their credits without depending on paper certificates.
