First International Thirukkural Conference South Korea
- The first International Thirukkural Conference was held at Sejong University in the capital city of Seoul, South Korea.
- The conference was held on November 8, the birthday of Italian scholar Joseph Pesci (Veerama Munivar), who first translated the Thirukkural into the European language Latin in 1730.
- The conference was organized by the South Korea Tamil Research Organization under the theme ‘Time-honored Truths from Society, Politics, and Culture to Global Relevance’.
- South Korea Tamil Research Organization President S. Arokiaraj, Vice President Sahayya Tarsius, Secretary D. Gnanaraj, Public Relations Officer Shanthi Prince and others participated in it.
