First International Thirukkural Conference South Korea The first International Thirukkural Conference was held at Sejong University in the capital city of Seoul, South Korea. The conference was held on November 8, the birthday of Italian scholar Joseph Pesci (Veerama Munivar), who first translated the Thirukkural into the European language Latin in 1730. The conference was organized by the South Korea Tamil Research Organization under the theme 'Time-honored Truths from Society, Politics, and Culture to Global Relevance'. South Korea Tamil Research Organization President S. Arokiaraj, Vice President Sahayya Tarsius, Secretary D. Gnanaraj, Public Relations Officer Shanthi Prince and others participated in it.
