National Action Plan on Antimicrobial Resistance 2.0 (NAP-AMR 2.0)
- India has launched the National Action Plan on Antimicrobial Resistance 2.0 (2025–29) at the start of WHO’s World AMR Awareness Week.
- Launched by: Union Ministry of Health & Family Welfare
- NAP-AMR 2.0 is India’s updated five-year strategic framework (2025–29) to combat rising antimicrobial resistance through a One Health approach covering human, animal, agriculture, and environmental sectors.
- It builds upon the gaps identified in the first National Action Plan (2017–2021) and aligns with the Global Action Plan on AMR by the WHO.
- It includes specific action plans of each key stakeholder ministry/department with timelines and budget to enable effective monitoring of progress in implementation.
