Army Signs Deal for Long-Range Rocket Launchers The Indian Army has signed a ₹293-crore contract with private defence firm NIBE Ltd in collaboration with Israel, for the supply of an advanced long-range rocket launcher system with strike capabilities of 150 km and 300 km. The system is being developed in collaboration with Israeli defence major Elbit Systems. The system, Suryastra, is India’s first Made in India universal multi-calibre rocket launcher. It capable of executing precision surface-to-surface strikes at ranges up to 300 km. Samudra Pratap Defence Minister commission the Indian Coast Guard ship Samudra Pratap in Goa. The vessel is equipped with advanced systems to detect oil spills, enabling comprehensive pollution response operations within the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ). It is capable of high precision operations, recover pollutants from viscous oil, analyse contaminants, and separate oil from contaminated water.
