Ayushman Bharat Diwas Ayushman Bharat Diwas is marked on April 30 to highlight the achievements of Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, the country’s flagship health insurance programme. It offers cashless treatment coverage of up to ₹5 lakh per family and has benefited more than 10.74 crore families across India. Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana The Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana is the world’s largest public healthcare scheme that aims at providing health insurance of up to Rs. 5 lakhs to each eligible household annually. AB-PMJAY was launched seven years ago on Sept. 23, 2018 to achieve universal health care. It is the world’s largest public healthcare scheme with crores of vulnerable Indian families enrolled in it. AB-PMJAY makes quality healthcare more affordable for over 12 crore vulnerable families. More than 86 lakh senior citizens have been enrolled in the scheme. It is a part of the Ayushman Bharat scheme with multiple components; together they deliver affordable and quality healthcare to achieve universal health.

Important Days Ayushman Bharat Diwas Ayushman Bharat Diwas is celebrated every year on the last day of April This year, it falls on 30 April 2024. The day is observed to promote and uphold the principles of the Ayushmaan Bharat Yojana also known as Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY). Note PM-JAY is a healthcare scheme launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2018. Under this scheme, free health insurance of Rs 5 lakh is provided to more than 10.74 crore poor and vulnerable families every year. World Summits and Organisation First International Conference on DPI The first United Nations Conference on Digital Public Infrastructure was held in New York under India’s leadership. The session was hosted by the Permanent Mission of India and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, in collaboration with iSPIRT (Indian Software Products Industry Round Table) The conference introduced India’s Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) framework as a global Standard. Note Digital public infrastructure (DPI) refers to blocks or platforms such as digital identification, payment infrastructure and data exchange solutions.
