Jnanpith Award Context: The 60th Jnanpith Award for the year 2025 has been announced for the Tamil poet Vairamuthu. Vairamuthu is the first Tamil writer to receive this award specifically for poetry. About Poet Vairamuthu He is a Tamil poet, writer, and film lyricist. He was born on July 13, 1953, in Mettur, near Theni district. He has authored more than 40 books.
