Defence INS Vikrant An Indian Navy MiG-29K fighter jet on 24 may 2023, landed on the indigenous aircraft carrier INS Vikrant for the first time at night. The aircraft carrier is currently sailing in the Arabian Sea. It was commissioned into the navy 2022 September by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The carrier is the first to be built in India and was constructed by the Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) in Kerala. The namesake Vikrant is a tribute to India's first aircraft carrier INS Vikrant (1961). Vikrant means "courageous".
