Consumer Justice Report Context: The India Justice Report has published the Consumer Justice Report 2026: Assessing Capacity of Redressal Commissions in India. It is the first nationwide evaluation of the consumer dispute redressal system under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019. Best Performing States Andhra Pradesh ranked first followed by Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Karnataka, West Bengal. These rankings indicate better efficiency, infrastructure, and case disposal performance. Gender Representation Concerns Representation of women remains very limited in leadership roles. Only Delhi and Sikkim had women serving as Presidents. Moreover, in the past five years, just three State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commissions (SCDRCs) were headed by a woman. Unified District Education Survey Report Context: The Central Government's Unified District Education Survey Report was recently released. This report notes that student enrollment in higher secondary schools in Tamil Nadu has risen significantly. Specifically, in the 2024–25 academic year, the enrollment rate for female students rose to 76% and for male students to 71%, marking a significant improvement compared to previous years. While female student enrollment stood at 49.8% in the 2020–2021 academic year, it rose to 76% in 2024–2025. Similarly, male student enrollment, which was 46.6% in 2020–2021, increased to 71% in 2024–2025. Furthermore, the report highlights that Tamil Nadu leads states such as Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh in terms of higher secondary school enrollment.
