IIT-Roorkee professor develops software to detect COVID-19 within 5 seconds using X-ray scan
Kamal Jain, professor at Civil Engineering Department, IIT(Indian Institute of Technology)- Roorkee, Uttarakhand, has developed a software which can detect COVID-19 within 5 seconds using x-ray scan of the suspected patient. The software will not only reduce testing costs but will also reduce the risk of exposure to healthcare professionals The software was developed within 40 days and the professor has filed a patent for the software and has approached Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) for a review.

‘Assess Koro Na’ app launched by Delhi government
The Delhi Government has launched ‘Assess Koro Na’ mobile application and advised the officials to use the new ‘Assess Koro Na’ app to do door-to-door survey in COVID-19 containment zones. This mobile application will speed up decision-making by analysing the real-time data and hence removing a major obstacle in the efforts to contain the virus.
NIRDPR and UNICEF training community leaders online to combat COVID-19
National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRDPR) in collaboration with the United Nations Children’s Fund(UNICEF), Hyderabad field office, is training over 28.33 lakh community leaders through online programs to practice social behaviours required to control the transmission of COVID-19 cases in villages in association with the governments of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh (AP) and Karnataka. Key Points: The online training program was initiated along the line of a detailed risk communication plan to build capacities of panchayat raj institutions (PRI), self-help groups (SHG), National Service Scheme (NSS) officials, volunteers and community radio stations (CRS) to control the spread of Coronavirus in their groups and village communities.
