Dr. S. R. Ranganathan Awards About 40 librarians across Tamil Nadu received the awards from School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi at the Anna Centenary Library. 25 librarians received Library Enthusiast Awards (readers circle). 12 libraries received trophies for securing the highest donations and patrons. The awards are instituted in memory of Dr. S. R. Ranganathan, known as the Father of Library Science in India. They are presented annually to selected librarians in the State. Award-winning librarians were conferred a special certificate, a 50-gram silver medal, and a cash prize of Rs. 5,000.
