Dweep Shakti Context: The Indian Armed Forces have successfully wrapped up Dweep Shakti, a high-intensity joint military exercise involving all three services. The drill highlighted effective coordination and cooperation among the Army, Navy, and Air Force in safeguarding India’s important island regions and maritime boundaries. About Exercise Dweep Shakti Dweep Shakti is a major tri-service military exercise aimed at evaluating and strengthening India’s combined combat readiness in coastal and island settings.  It emphasizes the swift mobilisation of forces to defend distant island territories against sea-based threats. The exercise was carried out under the supervision of the Andaman and Nicobar Command (ANC), India’s only integrated theatre command, making use of the strategic location of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The Indian Army, Indian Navy, and Indian Air Force all took part in the exercise. Its main goal is to enhance joint operational strategies and standard procedures, ensuring that all three services can function together seamlessly as a unified force during amphibious operations and in maintaining control over maritime areas.
