Education Minister reviews fund utilisation under Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan Context:Union Education Minister held a detailed review meeting on fund release and utilisation under the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan, with a focus on making Samagra Shiksha 3.0 more efficient, transparent and outcome-oriented. Union Minister said that an integrated approach through the convergence of key schemes, including Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), PM-POSHAN (Pradhan Mantri Poshan Shakti Nirman), ULLAS (Understanding of Lifelong Learning for All in Society), PM-SHRI (Pradhan Mantri Schools for Rising India) and other flagship programmes, will be undertaken from this year. About Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan Samagra Shiksha is an overarching programme for the school education sector extending from pre-school to class 12. Period:1st April 2021 to 31st March, 2026. The scheme has been prepared with the broader goal of improving school effectiveness measured in terms of equal opportunities for schooling and equitable learning outcomes. It subsumes the three Schemes of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) and Teacher Education (TE) and was launched in 2018. The scheme covers 1.16 million schools, over 156 million students and 5.7 million Teachers of Govt. and Aided schools  The major objectives of the Scheme are Provision of quality education and enhancing learning outcomes of students; Bridging Social and Gender Gaps in School Education; Ensuring equity and inclusion at all levels of school education; Support States in implementation of Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education (RTE) Act, 2009. Salient Features: It aims to ensure that all children have access to quality education with an equitable and inclusive classroom environment. The main emphasis of the Scheme is on improving quality of school education by focussing on the two T’s – Teacher and Technology.
