Employees’ State Insurance Corporation Context: The Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) marked the beginning of its 75th Foundation Year celebrations in New Delhi. ESIC is a statutory social security organization established under the Employees’ State Insurance Act, 1948, and functions under the Ministry of Labour and Employment. The ESI Act draws its foundation from the recommendations of the B.P. Adarkar Committee, which examined health insurance for industrial workers. ESIC administers the Employees’ State Insurance (ESI) Scheme, which provides medical care and cash benefits to workers earning up to ₹21,000 per month. The scheme follows a self-sustaining health insurance model, financed through fixed contributions made by both employers and employees based on wages.   State Innovation Mission Context: The Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) has introduced the country’s first State Innovation Mission (SIM) in Tripura. About State Innovation Mission (SIM) SIM has been launched as part of the approved AIM 2.0 programme under NITI Aayog’s State Support Mission (SSM) framework. Originally set up in 2016 by NITI Aayog, AIM seeks to encourage a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship throughout the country. Its major initiatives include Atal Tinkering Labs, Atal Incubation Centres, and Atal Community Innovation Centres, among others. The State Innovation Mission is envisioned as a long-term institutional framework that will assist States and Union Territories in developing strong, inclusive, and region-specific innovation ecosystems. These ecosystems are intended to align both with national goals and local capabilities.
