EXERCISE CINBAX-II 2026 Context : CINBAX-II 2026 is a joint military exercise between India and Cambodia. It is being conducted at the Techo Sen Phnom Thom Mreas Provincial Royal Cambodian Air Force Training Centre (Camp Basil), Kampong Speu, Cambodia (4–17 May 2026). The Indian contingent comprises 120 personnel, mainly from the Maratha Light Infantry Regiment, while the Cambodian contingent has 160 personnel from the Royal Cambodian Army. The exercise is based on the UN Charter Chapter VII mandate, focusing on sub-conventional warfare and counter-terrorism scenarios. It includes tactical drills, joint planning, field exercises, and validation exercises, with special focus on drone operations, mortars, and sniper tactics. The aim is to enhance interoperability, coordination, and operational synergy, while strengthening India–Cambodia defence cooperation and contributing to regional security and stability. INS Mahendragiri INS Mahendragiri (Yard 12654) is the sixth Nilgiri-class (Project 17A) frigate and was delivered to the Indian Navy on 30 April 2026 at Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited, Mumbai. It marks a major milestone in India’s indigenous warship design and construction capability under Aatmanirbhar Bharat. Designed by the Warship Design Bureau and built using the Integrated Construction philosophy, ensuring faster and efficient shipbuilding.
